FAQ

Q: Am I a candidate for Dr. Welch's treatments?
A: Not all patients that present to us are accepted into our program. Dr. Welch will determine if your case qualifies for our program after an initial evaluation.
Q: Why do you use Oxygen Therapy?
A: Your brain and nervous system need two things to survive: Fuel and Activation. Fuel comes in the form of glucose and oxygen. You get glucose from the food you eat. But as you age, your ability to use efficiently decreases. Supplemental oxygen therapy will help you get better faster!

For more information about the benefits of oxygen, see our oxygen page.

A: Yes, all treatments are extremely safe, very gentle and have been clinically proven by hundreds of doctors across the country.

A: There are approximately 60,000 active chiropractors in the U.S. Like in most other health professions, chiropractic physicians can take additional post-graduate training to specialize their practices.
Dr. Welch is one of fewer than 1,000 chiropractic physicians in the world that takes a comprehensive Neuro-Metabolic approach to your case. She has devoted many hours of post-graduate study to brain-based therapy and "functional medicine", including digestive enzymes and homeopathy. She is also a certified Internal Health Specialist from the Loomis Institute.

A: Please be advised that Dr. Welch cannot and will not tell you to stop your medications. That is outside a chiropractic physician's scope of practice. However, as your symptoms improve during the course of your care, Dr. Welch will recommend that you return to your prescribing physician who can adjust your medication levels.

Q: How much does your program cost?
A: The cost of your care depends on the findings of your individual case. After a thorough review of your case, Dr. Welch will develop a customized treatment program for you.

Q: What about my insurance?
A: Balanced Health and its doctors do not contract with any regular insurance companies (for example, Blue Cross, Aetna), nor do we accept reimbursements from these companies as payment in full for our services. We believe an insurance company shouldn’t dictate your treatment. That’s why we don’t participate in any insurance plans. You are responsible for payment and our various payment options make that affordable. We worry about helping you feel well instead of focusing on the needs of your insurance company.

However, insurance may cover your costs to some extent. You can file with your insurance company for reimbursement of some of your costs. We’ll provide you with all the documentation you need at the time of your visit should you want to pursue reimbursement through your insurance carrier. Many patients with PPOs or private indemnity insurance do receive partial reimbursement from their insurance company based on out-of network benefits. These payments do help reduce your out of pocket expenditure.
Q: What payment options are there?
A: We accept payment via cash, check, and major credit cards. We also offer two alternative payment programs. The most popular program is a six-month, no interest credit option. All payment options will be outlined for you when your treatment recommendations are discussed.
